Transport Links to and from Billericay
This Page is to provide information to people travelling to and from Billericay, by various means of Transport. I have tried to cover all the likely options of travel. If you feel I have missed something or have had problems please let me know at the bottom of this page.

Map of where Billericay is.

The information has been transferred from the Home page.

Road
Billericay is situated not far from the M25 Motorway, between the A127 and A 12 Roads. See map below, and the map for the location of the church on the About CTB Page, and do use the directions option using the Post Code where you are located. Map of where Billericay is.

If you are coming to Billericay from the south, go along the A127, then turn off at the A176 to Billericay. If coming from the North along the A12, turn off at junction 16 and along the B1007 through Stock. The road through Brentwood can be slow because you go down Brentwood High Street.  The other way from Brentwood is to turn off East of Brentwood and take other roads, but if it is a first visit,it is easier to follow the routes from A12 and A127, since they are properly signposted .

Rail

The main railway from London (Liverpool Street and Stratford) to Southend (Victoria) links Billericay with the neighbouring towns of Brentwood, Shenfield (junction for services to East Anglia) and Wickford (for connection to stations to Southminster on Sundays), and beyond to Hockley, Rayleigh and Rochford. The off peak frquency is every 20 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays. On Sundays we now have a 30 minute frequency service. On Weekdays and Saturdays there is a stopping train to Southminster on an hourly frequency stopping at Billericay. Most churches are within walking distance from the Railway Station. For churches further away there is a 24 hour Mayflower taxi company located next to the Railway Station (see below). The trains to Billericay were run by First Great Eastern until April 2004. From 1 April 2004 the Great Eastern, Anglia and West Anglia Franchises became a new Greater Anglia Franchise marketed as 'One'. From 12 December 2004, there was an increase of trains stopping at Shenfield to improve interchange with the Southend/ Southminster trains through Billericay. All week there is now one Norwich train an hour stopping at Shenfield (also stopping at Colchester, Manningtree, Ipswich and Diss). All week The Holland Boat trains now stop at Shenfield giving an easy connection for Stena service and onto Amsterdam and other Dutch stations (see more information below under SEA). Monday to Saturday there is an hourly service to Harwich Town from Shenfield (including stops at Chelmsford, Witham, Marks Tey, Colchester, Maningtree, Harwich International). There is a new direct Class 170 Diesel train service from Shenfield to Lowestoft (also calling at Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich, Woodbridge, Saxundham, Darsham, Halesworth, Beccles, Oulton Broad South); and from Shenfield to Peterborough (also calling at Chelmsford, Colchester, Ipswich, Stowmarket, Bury St Edmunds, Ely, March). To get to Peterborough time wise it would be quicker via London.
